Creta Electric is a battery-powered SUV offered with two battery capacities. The current India specification separates its 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh versions clearly, including different motor outputs and charging durations. Those differences matter more to ownership than a shared exterior badge.

Choose battery and motor together
The 42 kWh version pairs its battery with a 99 kW motor, while the 51.4 kWh version uses 126 kW. A comparison limited to the extra stored energy therefore misses a powertrain difference. Start with the distance between your dependable charging points, then compare the final price and equipment of the two exact versions. An occasional long journey and a daily apartment commute can lead to different choices.
Read the range figure correctly
The current specification gives 420 km and 510 km under the stated certification cycle. These are laboratory certification figures for a new battery, not distances guaranteed for every road. Plan a reserve for diversions, speed, air-conditioning use and an occupied charger. When comparing a previously published review, check whether it describes the same battery and the same test cycle before treating a different number as a contradiction.
Home charging versus a highway stop
The two AC times cover 10–100%, whereas the 39-minute DC claim covers only 10–80%. These windows cannot be compared as if they add the same percentage of energy. For home use, obtain an electrical assessment and a written installation scope. On a highway, check charger compatibility, actual availability and a backup location; a station’s advertised peak power alone does not promise a particular stopping time.
Packaging and luggage
At 4,340 mm long, the electric model has its own dimensions rather than simply inheriting every measurement of the combustion Creta. The 22-litre front compartment can separate small items from the main luggage area. Check the actual shape with your charging cable bag instead of relying only on its litre rating. The 2,610 mm wheelbase is useful comparison data, but seating comfort still needs a family visit to the vehicle.
BaaS is a different payment arrangement
Hyundai advertises an upfront starting amount of ₹10.99 lakh with battery charges starting at ₹3.90 per kilometre. This is not the same proposition as purchasing a car and battery outright. Ask for the minimum monthly billing, finance conditions, battery ownership, insurance treatment and exit or resale rules in writing. Compare total payments over your expected ownership period; a smaller opening payment is only one part of that calculation.
What to inspect before selecting a trim
Confirm the selected battery size on the quotation and the vehicle order. The tyre specification is 215/60 R17, and the manufacturer lists discs at both axles; those mechanical facts should remain distinct from convenience features that change by trim. Try the charging-port access in your intended parking position and check the equipment list for the exact Excellence, Premium or Executive derivative. This is a specification-based assessment, not a claim of a road test.

- Low rolling resistance tyres
- Battery-as-a-Service advertised separately
Strengths and points to check
Strengths
- Choice of battery size and motor output
- CCS2 and AC charging support
