Alcazar is Hyundai’s three-row SUV with six- and seven-seat arrangements. Its core ownership decision is therefore not simply petrol versus diesel: the second-row layout, third-row access and luggage required with all seats occupied are equally important.

Choose seats before equipment

Alcazar’s six- and seven-seat choices change the family layout, so begin with the people who will use each row. Test third-row access while the second row is in its normal position, then check where bags fit when every passenger seat is needed. A short showroom visit with the full family is more informative than choosing the highest trim from a feature list. Seat count alone cannot establish comfort for adults on a long trip.

Petrol and diesel gearbox paths

The manufacturer pairs the 1.5-litre turbo petrol with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT and the 1.5-litre diesel with a six-speed manual or automatic. Keep those pairings visible when comparing quotations. A petrol DCT price should not be treated as a substitute for a diesel automatic quote merely because both have two pedals. Ask for the maintenance schedule and operating guidance for the exact combination you select.

Measure the three-row footprint

The 4,560 mm length and 1,800 mm width make parking-space planning a real part of Alcazar ownership. Check a familiar narrow turn and the garage entrance during the demonstration. Leave room for doors and mirrors beyond the body dimensions. The 50-litre tank is useful specification data, but it cannot predict a family holiday’s fuel stops without a realistic consumption estimate and a reserve.

Drive modes do not create four-wheel drive

Normal, Sport and Eco are listed alongside terrain-related traction settings on applicable versions. The vehicle nevertheless remains front-wheel drive according to Hyundai’s overview. Choose a mode only within the guidance in the owner’s manual and do not interpret a sand setting as permission to enter any soft surface. For farm access or damaged roads, assess the actual route with sensible clearance and recovery considerations.

Compare trim and seating together

Executive, Prestige, Corporate, Platinum, Signature and Knight names describe different equipment offerings. Confirm that the desired seat arrangement is available with the engine, gearbox and grade on the order form. Look at practical controls from every occupied row, including access to ventilation and storage. A promotional photograph of a higher grade cannot establish the equipment of a lower-priced vehicle in stock.

Ownership cost beyond the entry price

For a family considering petrol against diesel, compare the price difference with expected annual use and actual local fuel prices. Keep insurance coverage and optional accessories consistent between quotes. Record the selected seat arrangement, because otherwise two apparently similar Alcazar offers may describe different specifications. A verified state-wise final price is not available here; use a dated local breakdown instead of an invented nationwide on-road table.
