Choose the right range configuration

The official comparison gives both S and Z a choice of 123 km or 161 km IDC range. These are test-cycle figures, not a guarantee for a two-person commute in all weather. Battery configuration and software equipment are separate decisions. Ask the quotation to identify the range version explicitly, then compare your daily distance with a realistic reserve for diversions and charging interruptions.

Storage without double counting

Rizta’s 56-litre storage headline combines 34 litres beneath the seat with 22 litres in a separate frunk. It does not mean a 56-litre boot. Try the exact helmet, shopping bag and rainwear you intend to carry. Check whether the frunk is included in the offered price and whether it affects the space you prefer for your feet.

Family fit and parking aids

Ather highlights a wide seat, floorboard and pillion backrest, alongside reverse and AutoHold functions. The backrest and software aids need to be checked against the selected version and package. Have both regular occupants sit on the demonstrator. A parking-assistance feature can help move the scooter, but it does not establish that the seat shape or suspension suits every family.

Charging at home and outside

The official page describes Ather Duo as a charger that can be wall mounted or carried. Before purchase, establish a suitable parking-side electrical supply and confirm installation requirements with the manufacturer. The headline claim of adding 30 km in ten minutes has conditions and is not a universal home-charging rate. Public-charger availability should be checked along your own route.

Warranty and connected features

The comparison table states a standard battery warranty of three years or 30,000 km, while the page also promotes a ten-year battery programme. Those statements are not the same entitlement. Ask for the paid-package price, distance limits, state-of-health conditions and exclusions in writing. Navigation, remote functions and language availability can also depend on version, software and subscription.

Compare the total amount

The page shows different starting prices for S and Z, but a starting figure without a selected city, battery and software package is not a full on-road quote. Compare the vehicle, charger, installation, connected package, insurance and registration line by line. Running-cost savings should use your actual electricity tariff and distance; Ather’s calculator assumptions are not guaranteed savings for every household.
