Aura is Hyundai’s compact sedan with petrol and CNG alternatives. Its 3,995 mm body keeps it below four metres, while the separate rear luggage compartment gives it a different shape and loading arrangement from the Grand i10 Nios hatchback.

Separate petrol and CNG specifications

The performance page separates the petrol engine’s 83 PS and 113.8 Nm from the CNG engine’s 69 PS and 95.2 Nm. This distinction matters because another short manufacturer description mixes these labels; the detailed powertrain figures are used here. Petrol torque is quoted at 4,000 rpm, as is CNG torque. A lower CNG output is a specification trade-off to consider alongside the local fuel-price difference.

Sedan proportions and everyday use

Aura is 1,680 mm wide and 1,520 mm tall, with four passenger doors and front-wheel drive. Its width is the same published figure as the Nios, but its longer body changes the space required when parking end-to-end. Rear AC vents are part of the advertised convenience package. Test the rear bench with the passengers who normally travel together rather than treating a five-seat label as a comfort guarantee.

Manual versus AMT and equipment choice

Hyundai describes a five-speed manual and an automated manual transmission for the range. An AMT automates clutch operation and shifts; it should not be confused with the IVT offered in larger Hyundai cars. The E, S, Corporate, SX and SX(O) names identify equipment levels. Projector headlights and alloy wheels shown in promotional material require a trim check, and the dated ex-showroom index is not a complete on-road quotation.

Check luggage with the chosen fuel

A separate sedan boot is one of the main reasons to shortlist Aura, but the usable shape matters as much as the body style. Inspect the actual petrol or CNG version you plan to buy and try the bags your household normally carries. Do not infer the CNG luggage arrangement from a petrol photograph. Also check how easily heavier cases pass through the boot opening; a nominal capacity cannot tell you whether a particular suitcase will fit.

Plan a useful Aura test drive

For the petrol AMT, include gentle creeping, reverse parking and a moderate incline on an approved test route. For a manual CNG car, pay attention to clutch reach and acceleration with the normal passenger load. The specifications establish a lower CNG power and torque output, but they do not determine whether you will find the response sufficient. A short demonstration in an empty car is less informative than testing the conditions in which your family usually travels.

Understanding the quoted price

Aura’s broad price range cannot replace a quotation tied to E, S, Corporate, SX or SX(O), with the selected fuel and transmission. Record the city and quote date before comparing the final amounts. Ask whether an accessory package can be removed and whether the insurance alternatives cover the same risks. State-wise on-road prices require verified local charges; multiplying a national starting price by an assumed universal tax rate would create misleading precision.
